Cultural Gallery - The Poets in Hakka Settlements- Special Exhibition on Hakka Poetry

Language is a shortcut to understanding a culture. From the fifteenth and sixteenth century, Hakka people started to emigrate eastward massively from China to Taiwan, and so far they have settled down for more than a century and developed abundant culture and living habits. Hence, the wisdom of Hakka ancestors has been passed down and accumulated for a long time, manifested in various aspects including food, clothing, housing, transportation, education, entertainment, and crafts, and all of them are the affections towards this land from the ancestors.

Nevertheless, with the integration of other ethnic groups or for other reasons, the precious Hakka culture is gradually neglected by people, therefore, in order to showcase the diverse value of Hakka culture in the new epoch, the museum curated three rounds of themed exhibitions centered on Hakka life, culture and crafts, respectively, with the hope of attracting people to explore and learn about Hakka culture.

The first round: “The Poets in Hakka Settlements- Special Exhibition on Hakka Poetry”
