To allow the general public to understand more about Hakka culture, Liudui Hakka Cultural Park also hopes that the foundation of Hakka culture can be established by other means of art aside from drama and music. Therefore, local students and teachers of Nei Pu Elementary School are especially invited to draw and color more than 200 lanterns and set up an exclusive painted lantern walking path so everybody can have a glimpse at the various modalities of traditional Hakka during the Spring Festival. Golden Bell Awards winner Li Kang-Lei, Acapassion Vocal Band, traditional troupes and celebrated Hakka singers and entertainers such as Lo Si-Jung, Peng Chia-Ni, etc. are also invited to give amazing performances on the main stage at the Umbrella Hakka Cluster Architecture Area. Furthermore, the must-watch Hakka theater show during the Chinese New Year is also launching the spring festival-exclusive “Liudui Fantasy”, a child drama which leads everyone to explore the fascinating features and characteristics of a Liudui Hakka village while experiencing the novelty of Hakka day-to-day life.

There is also an earth god parent-child obstacle game being launched on the day. Those who successfully win each level wind an earth god key ring. There are also events focused on meals prepared as an offering to the earth god, such as the “Talent demonstration of the earth god”, where creative Hakka rice dishes are served prepared by skillful Hakka chefs who make fresh, creative Hakka rice dishes on site every day. A total of 150 servings will be distributed during each session so that everybody can enjoy the sweetest new year. Two prize draws have been planned as well: the first is the “everyone can be a good photographer” activity, where visitors can claim a limited-edition styled postcard, bring it to the designated exhibition area and take a photograph before uploading it to the appointed post on Liudui Hakka Cultural Park’s FB fan page. Participants have the opportunity to win a spring festival-exclusive lucky band worth NTD 1,000. Another activity invites visitors to upload their pictures taken with the image of the earth god to Liudui Hakka Cultural Park’s FB fan page and be in for the chance to win a voucher for five-star accommodation and a hot springs gift certificate. Please refer to the official website or FB fan page of Liudui Hakka Cultural Park for details.

According to Ho Chi-Liang, Director of the Taiwan Hakka Cultural Center Council, “the debut of the “environmental theater” launched during the Spring Festival and invites the audience to sit on the grass and appreciate the melodious music performed by a symphony orchestra from southern Taiwan and admire “Liudui caprice”, co-created by the popular cry wheel dancer Yang Shih-Hao from Asia's Got Talent and modern dancer Wang Hsin in a beautiful environment. In addition, the one and only “tobacco music concert” is going to be performed by young Liudui Hakka people who will sing Hakka songs of the new generation in the rarely seen tobacco field during the Chinese New Year. The audience can reflect on the tobacco fields in Hakka villages of the past and enjoy the music while they relax their minds and bodies.”

Liudui Hakka Cultural Park continues rolling out exciting events during the entire Spring Festival to add color to your holiday and invite you to have a lot of fun. We welcome everybody to visit Liudui Hakka Cultural Park with their kids during the Chinese New Year, enter the red envelope prize draw and win a big prize, enjoy the spectacular shows and listen to the wonderful music.
