Sponsored by the Hakka Cultural Development Center of Hakka Affairs Council, the “Liudui Park's Public Art Setting Project” is an artwork collaborated by Hakka poet Zhong Yong-feng, artist Lin Shun-long, and Zhong Qiao, artistic director of Assignment Theater. On the press conference held on July 21, 2016, the Ministry of Culture announced the finalists of 5th “Public Art Awards Competition” in which the “Liudui Park's Public Art Setting Project” was shortlisted for three major awards, namely "Excellence Award," "Environmental Integration Award," and "Public Participation Award." The award-winning certificate was conferred to Director Ho Jin-liang of Hakka Cultural Development Center later at the venue.

Organized by the Ministry of Culture, the Public Art Awards are meant to encourage private and public sectors to design and set up aesthetic and innovative public art works.

Using "Migration-Reclamation-Cultivation-Reading" as the theme, the "Liudui Park's Public Art Setting Project" showcases how our Liudui ancestors cherished their homes, worked hard on the farm, and loved reading and learning. The proposal must have won the hearts of the judging panel so as to be shortlisted for 3 major prizes in the Competition.
