Under the leadership of Liudui Hero Doll, a religious symbol of Liudui Township, and this year's sports competition organizer Mayor Fu Ming-hsiung of Zhutian Township, Pingtung County, the flame torch for the 51st Liudui Sports Competition arrived at Miaoli Hakka Cultural Park on March 7. Director Ho Jin-liang of Hakka Culture Development Center of Hakka Affairs Council and all his colleagues warmly received the torch relay team. Accompanied by the mascot "Duinwu Cow" and the cute Liudui Hero Doll, Township Mayor Fu personally handed over the flame torch to Director Ho.

The Liudui Sports Competition started the “Torch Relay around Taiwan” campaign this year. Its main purpose was to convey the spirit of loyalty cherished by Liudui residents and to promote Hakka traditional culture. Ignited at the Loyalty Temple of Zhutian Township, Pingtung County on March 6, the flame torch was first relayed to Kuanshan Township, Taitung County, and then passed on to Fenglin Township, Hualien County; the Sanshia Hakka Cultural Park in New Taipei City; the Yimin Temple, Xinpu Township, Hsinchu County; the Miaoli Hakka Cultural Park; Fulin Temple, Xizhou Township, Changhua County; Lunbei Township, Yunlin County; and Tainan Hakka Cultural Center. The flame torch was finally relayed by the float parade teams of the 12 Hakka townships of Liudui on March 9.

Director Ho Jin-liang invited folks around the country to visit Zhutian Township, Pingtung County and the Liudui Hakka Cultural Park on March 12 and 13 to personally appreciate the rich Hakka folk customs and enjoy traditional foods and agricultural products of 12 Hakka townships of Liudui.
