Mother's Day falls in May, a time when children express their gratitude to Ma. It was also in May, 2016 when the Miaoli Hakka Cultural Park celebrated its 4th year anniversary. Tung flowers happened to bloom late this year and their white blossoms decorated the Park beautifully, while the lively anniversary celebration activities attracted many people and their mothers to tour the Park, giving themselves the most precious memories.

Held at 10 on the morning of May 7, the opening ceremony was ushered in by a children’s dancing troupe. The kids dressed themselves up like fairies and flied among the Tung flowers. Their lovely gesture cheered the audience overwhelmingly. To celebrate the birthday of the Park, the organizers prepared a large red balloon to symbolize the red egg that Hakka people eat for their birthday according to the tradition. When the red balloon opened, rising slowly were many colorful balloons in the shape of creative birthday cakes. This presentation stunned the audience.

In the afternoon, the ultra-popular puppet theater from Pingtung Liudui Park performed a Hakka drama "Kid Ducks Looking for Parents.” The puppet show attracted an overwhelming number of crowds and also brought the first-day anniversary events to a resounding successful ending.
