Highlights of the "Liudui Cultural Park Farming School in 2017" – Activity Date: March 11, 2017
From Taiwan Hakka Culture Development Center, Director-General He Jinliang and Deputy Director Wu Changcheng led the volunteers from the park, 200 parents and children who through online registration from neighboring schools, like Ronghua, Neipu, Changxing and other elementary schools, to participate in the experience activity of transplanting rice. (100 online applicants were from Kaohsiung City, such as Lingya, Sanmin, Fengshan, Daliao, Nanzih, Gangsang, Meinong, etc. and 100 applicants were from Pingtung City, Changzhi, Neipu, Linluo, Fanhua, Chaozhou, Wandan, Gaoshu and other townships and towns.) After the ceremony of worshiping heaven, all the people took a photo together and then walked into the farms to transplant rice after teachers’ instruction.
The people from all the rural areas of Kaohsiung and Pingtung worked together to transplant the rice seedling of hope and also of the great love in Luidui. From the experience course of "Transplanting Rice", all could actually experience the various farming tasks of the Hakka people during the initial stage of rice cultivation.
"Rice Culture" is a very important food culture for Hakka people. The cultivation of rice is also a very important source of income for the Hakka villages in Luidui. Through the food and agriculture education from "Liudui Cultural Park Farming School in 2017", we can understand the Hakka people's attitude towards environmental use and then promote the Hakka culture and tourism and leisure industry.
