Organized by Hakka Cultural Development Center of Hakka Affairs Council, the activity “Hakka Cultural Development Center Mascot Design Selection” result is now announced! There are totally 8 awarded outstanding designs. Beside certificates, the winners would receive bonus up to NTD 150,000. Due to the promotion of Hakka Affairs Council, “Hakka Culture” is now familiar to Taiwanese. Taiwanese gradually recognized some specific totems or images that represent Hakka. However, the living environment of Hakka, their tribe, religion, festivals and customs, life spirit, aesthetics are yet to be discovered and recreated. The current selection activity responds to the need that Hakka Cultural Development Center requires a unique mascot. The design must be based on a Hakka image and crossover with designers’ creative ideas.

     Mr. He Jin-liang, the director of Hakka Cultural Development Center, said that this activity recruited applications from the 29th of September, 2017 to the 20th of November, 2017. There were totally 815 applied designs received. For the reason of fairness, the center invited a panel of experts to hold a review meeting and to review the applied designs on the 28th of November. After the serious procedure of reviewing and idea exchange, the panel have chosen the top 3 designs and 8 other outstanding works. These winners were chosen based on the prizes and quota. Every winner would receive a certificate and NTD 150,000 to 5,000, according to his/her ranks.

       As there were too many applicants, the center organizes the “People’s Choice Online Voting” activity. The voting will be held on the FB fans page of Hakka Cultural Development Center. The panel of expert has chosen 10 unranked designs and people may like and vote them to join our lucky draw. The online voting activity starts from 10:00 of the 4th of December, 2017 and end at 17:00 of the 18th of December, 2017. Each of the 4 highest voted designs will receive the award of “People’ Choice” and NTD 1,000. After that, 80 voters will be selected randomly and each of them will receive a gift (20 sets of NTD 300 coupon, 30 sets of pocket mirror, 30 pairs of customized magnet).
