How could a grain become the snowy and shiny rice on people’s dining tables?
How could a traditional wooden grinder, which served since the 15th year of Showa era of Japan, connect and gather people from different domains?
The journey of rice is a journey between a farm and a dining table, and also the life journey of the Liudui Hakka grain grinding factory and its family.
After a year of work since the July of 2017, Hakka Cultural Development Center of Hakka Affairs Council and National Kaohsiung Normal University worked together to finish the book “Grain –A Running River”. This book is compiled by the experts from the domains of academic research, literature, illustration creation, art design and the like. “Grain –A Running River” is published as a bundle that includes a book and a picture book. They portrait the life form and working of Liudui Hakka grain grinding industry from the perspectives of academic study and literature story. This book set is expected to bring the new image of Hakka to the public’s eyes.
