In order to reproduce the route which helped connect with the world for Hakka village located in the romantic Provincial Highway 3 in the early period and promote Hakka cultures and tourism, the Hakka Affairs Council invites the public to experience the glimpse of the history, which once honored the Hakka ancestors, at Taichung International Travel Fair of 2019. It has a special theme called “Raknus Selu Trail.” This activity will be launched at the Taichung International Exhibitional Center from April 26th to 29th of 2019.
After spending more than one year to survey and check, the Hakka Affairs Council indicates that the “Raknus Selu Trail” starts from Longtan District of Taoyuan City in the north and extends to the Dongshi District and Shigang District of Taichung city. The entire trail is about 407 kilometers. It was an ancient trail which the Hakka ancestors used to connect with each other and ship goods and materials. Besides, it is also an industrial road which links the life memories of the Hakka ordinary people, natural ecology, historical humanism, ethnic groups and industrial chains along the trail. In order to make the public understand the important industries at that time, the Hakka Museum especially uses the old utensils, like camphor pots and barrel of camphor oil in the camphor house and builds the scene of Se Lu (It means the trail in Hakka), introducing Taiwan, the kingdom of camphor, in an educational and entertaining way starting from camphor trees and the related camphor industry. In addition, you can also taste the Hakka delicious rice balls, enjoy the tea culture and have the camphor creation DIY when stepping the trail. While taking pictures and checking in on the Facebook, you will learn the “Raknus Selu Trail”by experiencing joyfully and enjoying the wonderful food.
The opening of the Hakka Museum is held by Hakka Affairs Council, along with the representatives of Tourism Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, Council of Indigenous Peoples and the Sports Administration of the Ministry of Education. They will write camphor worker certificate to start the opening together, which symbolizes the opening of the “Raknus Selu Trail.” Besides inviting people on the scene to experience the cultural characteristics of the trail together, some gifts will be drawn, such as travelling to the Hakka Village and souvenirs, so that people can experience the hospitality and warmth of the Hakka village by themselves.
Besides, with the lively launch of the Taiwan Small Town roaming 2019, the Hakka Affairs Council also recommends the top 10 Hakka villages in Taiwan, combined with the tourist products, such as Tung Blossom of Hakka Festival, Taiwan High Speed Rail holidays and Formosa Express, aiming to invite you to join the activities of “Visiting the Hakka Villages”. The Hakka Museum also holds wonderful activities for you to experience the features, including life application of camphor trees, AR image recognition postcards and Tung flower lunch boxes. In addition, the museum provides archaic camphor worker certificate as key rings. As long as you come to the museum and join Taiwan Hakka Mall Organization as a member or take the surveys, you can have personal electric cautery service immediately. There are only limited offers available. We invite you to visit us. The activity is held on April 26th to 29th in the “2019 Taichung International Travel Fair --- Hakka Theme Pavilion” (Booth Number: 0528). You definitely return fully loaded!
