Sending a warn heart to De-fang in Miaoli during Chinese New Year
The Miaolo Park of Hakka Cultural Development Center, Hakka Affairs Council organized the “Greeting guests in Spring” activity series during the Chinese New Year. About 30 thousand people were attracted to visit the park. We organized different art performances and activities and the visitors approved and supported out effort. Miaoli Park will not only promote Hakka culture, but also organized many charity sales in this year. The visitors were full of warm heart. This time, the park worked with calligraphers He Zhao-luo, Luo Sheng-lun, Luo Yong-chang and others to create about a hundred of Hakka couplets, blessing words and so on. These creations were sold in the charity sales with other Hakka art and creative products (Hakka cloth tableware and backpack) during Chinese New Year. We received a positive feedback from the public about this activity.

Mr. He Jin-liang, the director of the center, donated all the income and more than 300 invoices from this activity to Private Tak-fong Middle Home in Zaociao Township, Miaoli County. Private Tak-fong Middle Home was established in 2007. It is currently taking care of 14 mentally-retarded inmates. These inmates are incapable of working in the society and require institutional care. Although it is not easy, all the workers there devote their effort to the inmates, and these inmates therefore receive a good care and education. All these donation comes from the warn heart public.
