The International Museum Day 2025 will be held on May 17 and 18 at the Liugdui Hakka Cultural Park.
In line with this year’s theme, “The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities,” the event invited participants to explore Hakka cuisine through fifty stalls featuring local producers. Over two days, the event offered a variety of activities, including picnics, guided tours, a food market, concerts, and interactive shows. It also highlighted the sharing of Hakka history and music, creating an immersive experience that deepened participants’ understanding of Hakka culture. The event underscored the cultural value of the Liugdui Hakka settlements, especially through their food traditions.
In addition to showcasing Hakka cuisine, the event featured snacks from Indigenous and new immigrant communities, providing a broader culinary experience. There were also 30 hands-on handicraft workshops, highlighting both traditional Hakka craftsmanship and contemporary industries. Specialty dishes from various ethnic groups were promoted, including the winner of the 2024 Hakka Cooking Contest from Linluo Township, Hakka braised foods, and banana chips from the Taiwan Banana Research Institute. Visitors spent a relaxing afternoon in the village, enjoying local foods and immersing themselves in the rich cultural offerings.
