Today (the 27th), the “2026 Liudui Cultural Heritage and Local Society Conference” was held at the Liudui Hakka Cultural Park. Under the theme “Crossing Disciplines, Exchanges, and New Voices,” the event explored the cultural heritage of Liudui Hakka communities and the cultural consciousness of local society, spanning topics from ethnic interaction and cultural exchange to local innovation.

The conference brought together numerous experts and researchers in the fields of culture, history, and museum studies. Through keynote speeches and the presentation of eight papers, discussions covered topics such as the shaping of Liudui’s local spaces and characters, the preservation and practice of cultural heritage, cultural governance, and cultural routes, showcasing the diverse facets of Liudui cultural studies.

Director Hsieh Sheng-hsin of the Hakka Culture Development Center stated that since 2022, the Center has been promoting the Liudui Ecomuseum, continuously and systematically building local knowledge of Liudui through documentary preservation, oral history, and local surveys. The Center looks forward to working hand in hand with local residents to jointly safeguard and pass down precious Hakka culture, allowing more people to witness the profound cultural heritage of Liudui.

It is hoped that this conference will bring participants further inspiration and motivation for the preservation of Liudui cultural heritage and local social research, encouraging them to join the ranks of practice, and working together to deepen the research energy and inheritance of Liudui culture.
